A friendly Fijian welcome awaits you at Matana Beach Resort which is located on the Island of Kadavu, approximately forty five minutes by air from Nadi Airport or thirty minutes from Suva. The resort is nestled in tropical gardens in an area known by local villagers as "Matana" (which in Kadavu dialect means "a sandy beach at all tides"). Matana Beach Resort is small and personal, catering for divers and non-divers alike while the coconut palms, aquamarine water and white sand make a perfect setting for swimming, snorkeling or just soaking up the sun. Kadavu has many remarkable sights and the rainforest capped hills behind the resort offer many hiking trails. The view from numerous vantage points is simply breath-taking – remember your camera!

ACCOMMODATION the resort has just 10 bures (Fijian bungalows) and accommodates a maximum of only 24 guests at any one time.  Each bure has its own bathroom (hot water), ceiling fans, bed-lamps, queen size bed or 2 singles, verandah, fly screening, external rinse shower etc. Two of the bures have two bedrooms which can accommodate up to 5 people and are handy for families, friends.  The remaining 8 bures can each accommodate 1, 2 or 3 people.  Built in a more modern - traditional style, they blend into the lush gardens and are roomy enough to allow space for relaxing in your private time.  All bures have direct access to the beach, dive shop, dining/lounge rooms, bars and activities toys.  They are powered with 240V electricity which is generated by the resort's own power plant.

ACTIVITIES Just 60 feet along the beach from the resort are some nice coral heads - great for snorkeling.  Kayaks, paddleboards, body boards are all available for guest use, free of charge.  Dive gear, snorkeling gear and underwater cameras are available for hire.  Fishing & trolling can be arranged either in a resort boat or village boat.  They have two bars, the Lounge Bar and Beach Bar.  Both are lovely spots to view the sunset.  The lounge area has a library of approx. 2000 paperbacks, hard cover books and magazines for those that enjoy reading. Trekking, Church visits, school visits, village walks, day kayak trip, bird watching, shell collecting, weaving, eat/drink your own coconuts, are all free activities.

DIVING Matana Beach Resort is staffed by a team of skilled professional s (Dive Kadavu) and is a member of the Padi Resort Association. Two purpose built well equipped dive boats, coupled with the latest safety features, ensure comfort and take divers and snorkelers to the best sites Kadavu has to offer. Diving in these clear waters with abundant marine life, brilliantly colored soft and hard corals and endless swim-throughs is the easiest and most enjoyable diving imaginable. For the diver who wishes to travel light, a full compliment of hire gear is available in the dive shop.

DINING The restaurant is located in the elevated dining area, and they serve a variety of local and international dishes.  Meals are "order off the blackboard" or buffet style.  They always have fresh fish available when it is caught.

Children Policy:

Children's Policy: Children are welcome at the resort, however, no cot/high chair facilities are available and there is no formal child care. Children from 4 - 12 years pay 60% rates for under 4 year olds on request.
