On the remote and magnificent island of Kadavu, Matava - Fiji's Premier Eco Adventure Resort boasts secluded splendour whilst also satisfying your spirit of adventure. Bordered by the Great Astrolabe Reef Matava is a small and intimate getaway. Matava is designed to blend with its natural environment. Traditional thatched Fijian bures nestled in the rainforest and set amidst lush tropical surroundings, accommodate up to 22 guests and offer privacy, comfort and superb ocean views.
DIVING
The Astrolabe Reef is the world's fourth largest barrier reef and is Fiji's largest living organism. It extends along the entire southern side of Kadavu and stretches for over 120km. It is rated as one of the world's premier diving locations offering a great diversity and spectacle in coral structures and marine life.
The reef adopted its name in 1827 following French explorer Dumont d'Urville's collision with the reef in his vessel "The Astrolabe".
The resort dives the reef extensively and escort you through the wonders of this hidden paradise. they cater for all levels of diver from beginner to experienced and take you to sites varying in depths, currents and visibility ranging from 20 - 50 m! You can expect a kaleidoscope of colourful corals and wonderful marine life - They can assure you that you won't be disappointed.

ACCOMMODATION
Matava caters to a maximum of only 22 guests in lush tropical surrounding ensuring a private haven away form the hustle and bustle of crowds.Traditional thatched Fijian 'bures' with polished timber floors, louvre windows, timber four poster beds and private decks are nestled in the rainforest to offer privacy, comfort and superb ocean views. The oceanview bures are across the stream and offer spectacular panoramas of The Great Astrolabe Reef and surrounding offshore islands. The top-end honeymoon bures are scattered back up on the hill behind Matava to ensure complete privacy and stunning vista from the expansive full length picture windows across the ocean.
Immersed in beautiful tropical gardens and surrounded by lush rainforest the honeymoon bures are a true heaven of privacy within the beauty of Fiji's natural environment. Solar power provides the lighting in all the bures for night time reading and comfort

FISHING
Their brand new DeepVee 310 'Bite Me ' has a crew of two and is available for day charter for up to 4 guests. Powered by twin Iveco 280s, she is outfitted with toilet, shower, galley, fridge and saloon for guest's comfort whilst out big game fishing or just cruising the area's uninhabited islands and sheltered coral lagoons.
The DeepVee 310 has the legendary Raymond Hunt designed hull with its reputation for a smooth ride and superb sea keeping characteristics. Bite Me is in full Fiji Survey and carries a plethora of electronics and safety equipment.
The resort has caught a total of 18 of Fiji National Fishing Records.

Children Policy:
- Matava resort does not allow children under the age of 15 years to dive. Matava resort does not formally offer baby sitting for youngsters. Fijians are however fantastic care sitters with great patience, understanding, endless smiles, and love for children. It is usually possible to arrange for a babysitter however Matava resort accepts no responsibility for such services.

Rates are quoted in Fiji dollars and include vat and service turnover tax, airport transfers and breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
A guest deposit is understood to be a formal & binding commitment to pay for the vacation package in full, to take the activities that you requested and that Matava resort fulfilled in good faith. The deposit is non-refundable. Furthermore, submission of a deposit by any guest indicates that guest's full acceptance of Matava Resort's Booking Terms & Conditions.When a booking is made, space is held and other bookings are turned away. They stand by their confirmed bookings and respectfully request that you do the same.
