Qamea Resort & Spa is a luxury 4.5 star all adult resort situated on 100 acres of lush tropical landscaped gardens, bushland, and jagged volcanic South Pacific mountains that soar behind the property. The entire resort fronts onto a private white sand beach over a kilometre in length, known as the most spectacular in Fiji's northern island group.
ACCOMMODATION
Qamea has now completed renovations of all their bures featuring new and enlarged elegant bathrooms with outdoor showers in ten of their beachfront bures (two of their bures have new and enlarged indoor showers for those guests that prefer indoor facilities), heated towel racks and European bathroom fixtures and cabinetry. All their bures are fully air-conditioned, have new hard and soft furnishings including high quality super king size beds, hyper allergenic pillows and Egyptian cotton linens.
A split-level beautifully appointed Honeymoon Villa has recently been completed, featuring a large bathroom with a sunken shower and twin vanities. To this add a dramatic main "chiefly-style" bure which as focal point for the resort has its bar, restaurant, boutique and front office.
All accommodation offers the utmost in privacy and comfort for no more than twenty-four guests at one time.

DINING
The menus change daily at the resort offering fresh tropical fruit, fish, lobster and crab straight from the sea. Sizzling steaks or marinated lamb is also offered: one sample menu offered - lunch: Caesar Salad Chicken satay or reef fish with basil butter & lemon dinner: watercress soup or sashimi fillet steak with béarnaise sauce or chili sea crab vanilla Bavarois The resort offers other options and caters to guests who have special dietary needs. The resort now has organic vegetable gardens and almost all of their vegetables are grown, picked and served to their guests on the same day. This has also allowed the resort to expand their vegetarian option which is presented at all meals.

ACTIVITIES
The resort offers a variety of activities including a trek into the lush tropical rainforest with its myriad of birds, or go deep sea fishing, snorkel amid amazing coral reefs, enjoy a swim in the resort's pool, relax in a hammock between two palm trees or laze in the sun on a white sand beach.
The resort also now features a Guinot of Paris approved waterfront spa facility, full gymnasium and new beachfront dive and water sport center with all new equipment.

DIVING
For scuba divers, you can look forward to some of the finest dive spots on earth: the fans, the Purple Wall and Chief's Garden - just some of the exquisite diving locations near Qamea. The reefs between Qamea Island and Taveuni, where they have their twenty or so dive sites, have been rated world class with diving no further than twenty minutes away. The majority of their dives are drift dives and their reefs are famous for their variety of soft corals. Hard corals with their schools of tropical, friendly white-tipped reef sharks, garden eels, the occasional turtles, squid and eagle rays, all add to the fun of diving. Their dive operation is led by a Dive Instructor and his staff and their dive boats can look after both experienced divers and beginners. Such well known sites as Qamea Freeway, The Caves, Maraia's Cove, Barracuda Pinnacle, Chief's Garden and Swirling Coconut are regularly on the agenda. ACCOMMODATION - HONEYMOON BURES
the two Honeymoon Bures are designed specifically for discerning guests seeking the ultimate in luxury and romance. With over 900 square feet, the Honeymoon Bures command expansive views of Qamea's lagoon and long white sand beach. Like all of the resort's accommodation, the Honeymoon Villas will be fully air-conditioned, have romantic outdoor showers with attention to detail at every step. In addition, both of the Honeymoon Bures have romantic canopied four poster beds with soft white mosquito netting curtains and boast bathrooms of over 300 square feet, a private outdoor courtyard with an enticing natural stone Jacuzzi spa pool complete with waterfall, and a covered outdoor day bed off the beachside deck - perfect for watching the sunset. The Honeymoon Bures are also be equipped with an i-Pod stereo docking station for their guests that enjoy a little background music.

ROYAL BEACH HOUSE ACCOMMODATION
The two new royal beach houses are located at the furthest end of Qamea's long white sand beach, promising the most secluded location on the resort. The villas are each 1700 square feet (including veranda), have panoramic views of the beach and sunsets and boast a private swimming pool, indoor and outdoor showers and separate bedroom and living rooms. The villas have soaring 25 foot ceilings and contain exquisite contemporary and antique furnishings as well as a stereo system. The beach houses also have the latest available electronics including TV's and I-pod docking stations.
The Royal Beach House was formerly the resort owners’ private residence, the resort has recently completed a full renovation of the villa and introduced it as a Premium Two Bedroom Villa for guest rental. This Villa is perfect for couples with adult children or for two couples traveling together.

QAMEA JUNGLE SPA
the spa is a purpose built six bure complex perched on the ledge of a mountain beneath the canopy of the island's thick jungle and was a finalist in the Conde Nast 2010 most excellent spa awards. The spa proudly features products from Guinot Paris, a world renowned skin care company that offers high quality products and professional techniques for their use. The therapists have received specialized training directly from Guinot and Qamea is the only approved Guinot spa in Fiji.

WEDDING PACKAGE
The day before the wedding, you will be taken across to Taveuni to the District Officer to arrange for the wedding license - birth certificate, passport and divorce papers (if applicable) must be presented.
Their weddings are usually held on a beautifully decorated part of the grounds by the beach in the late afternoon facing the west and the sunset. In preparation for the service, the couple are dressed traditionally in customary Fijian style tapa cloth with a floral salusalu (lei) and bridal bouquet. Two of the staff are similarly dressed and act as bridesmaid and best man.
The service is held with the local Minister or Priest presiding and with their staff and the dance group choir joining in with the singing of Hymns during the service. The register is then signed and witnessed and the couple are toasted, six bottles of champagne being included for this. A break so that the bridal couple can change and relax while the resort prepares for the evening's entertainment.
The evening program starts with the meke group presenting action songs and dances. All the guests are encouraged to join in the dancing to the music of their house band. The sound of the Lali drums calls everyone to the Fijian buffet dinner. The wedding cake is presented for the couple of cut. Then the evening continues as evenings invariably do. During the day, the guests can watch the preparation of the lovo. |
